A touch of Southwest Florida is in everything The Jac Sanibel Island Bar & Grille does. That’s why the new restaurant on Periwinkle Way is launching “The Jac Gives Back” campaign to give half of the proceeds from four specialty drinks to charities benefitting the local community.
“Members of the community support our restaurant every day,” said Eve Alves, owner of The Jac Sanibel Island Bar & Grille. “It’s my social responsibility to combine everyday life with charitable giving, and I truly believe in giving back to the community I serve.”
The Periwinkle, a tart cherry libation with Hendrick’s Gin and a twist of lemon, benefits Community Housing and Resources, a nonprofit organization that addresses the growing need for affordable housing in Sanibel.
The Pretty in Pink combines Tito’s vodka with cranberry juice, elderflower liqueur and more to aid Partners for Breast Cancer Care, a nonprofit organization that strives to rule out or diagnose breast cancer for underserved and uninsured women and men in Lee County. It was created as part of the CONRIC PR & Marketing DRINK PINK campaign, a fundraising effort for Southwest Florida breast cancer charities that involves more than a dozen local restaurants.
The Island Thyme, a colorful concoction of Bombay Sapphire gin, Cointreau triple sec, maraschino liqueur, fresh lemon juice and a sprig of thyme, supports the Kiwanis Club of Sanibel & Captiva.
The Sanibel Cougar mixes Ketel One Citroen vodka with Blue Curacao liqueur, fresh lime juice and cranberry juice. It helps The Canterbury Fund, which benefits students, faculty and facilities at The Canterbury School in Fort Myers.
The drinks mesh with the light and airy atmosphere at The Jac, which opened its doors in June. The new farm-to-table menu includes wide-ranging options made with the finest and freshest ingredients.
